BRINGING COMMUNITIES AND BUSINESSES TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE NET-ZERO

The Green Innovation Academy

We partnered with Queens University Belfast to create The Green Innovation Academy which taught local people, industry, business, and farmers the key principles of innovation, how to collaborate and how to embed new technologies within their work.

The Green Innovation Academy enabled participants to strengthen existing ideas and formulate solutions on how to achieve Net Zero. Participants had the opportunity to progress to incubation stage where they were able to test, validate and start to build their identified solutions.

This 3 week programme provided participants with a toolkit of techniques that they can apply beyond the programme to their own area of work.

Core outputs of the programme include:

  • Development of the core competencies that constitute an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Gained a high level of confidence in using innovation processes and methodologies.

  • Gained practical tips and strategies on how to build and manage teams.

  • Developed a deep understanding of their assigned challenge and their individual impact.

  • Examined tools and resources that can be used to convert ideas into new ventures.

  • Learned practical leadership skills and strategies for developing innovative solutions.

  • Built technical awareness in areas beyond their core research or work focus.
